1/3 Of Humanity Has Never Had The Chance To Know Jesus

Help me bring awareness and support to local ministries in the Middle East and within the 10/40 window, the area of the world where the least amount of missionaries are sent, and where the largest need is for missions.

The Task At Hand

What Is The Need Of The Nations?

The Need Of The Nations is an initiative born out of a burden regarding the greatest injustice in the world today. That over 3 billion people worldwide have never heard the good news of the Gospel. Created to educate the majority of the Western Christian world that has no idea about the unreached state of the world, and how privileged we are even to be able to respond to the Gospel. It is a call to action for Christians to get involved in seeing the Great Commissions finished globally in our generation through education unto engagement.

Education

Over 82% of Christians are not connected or don’t know what the Great Commission is, even though it was the last thing given to us by Jesus before his ascension. This is why education is so important, because for Christians to be engaged in the Great Commission they must first be educated concerning what it even is. The Great Commission is a command from Jesus recorded in Matthew 28 to his church, to go out into every nation and tongue proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel, baptizing them and making disciples out of them, throughout the whole earth. Within the earth, there are billions of people who are born into cultures where if nothing were to change they would never have the opportunity to hear the Gospel, they exist within unreached people groups. The Great Commission has not reached them. These are specific cultures that do not have proper access to the Gospel, or thriving enough Indigenous Christians to self-reproduce their churches and believers. This is why missionaries are needed amongst these unreached people groups, to strengthen and support the Indigenous churches and produce enough Christians that they might be able to self-reproduce enough disciples to reach their own people groups without outside help. Most of these unreached people groups exist within the 10-40 window, which spans from North-West Africa to North-East Asia.

Sadly within missions, there is a massive discrepancy. Only 1% of the American church’s entire mission budget goes to missionaries and indigenous church planting movements that exist to serve the 6,043 unreached people groups that comprise over 3 billion people in the 10/40 window. The rest of it is either recycled within America or sent to countries with thriving indigenous church cultures. Now although supporting churches in countries that are far more reached is not wrong, and it is an important ministry, as a church we must begin to pay attention to the most unreached parts of the world as well!

Engagement

So once you are educated and burdened over the Global Great Commission, how can you get engaged? You can respond to the Great Commission by first asking the Lord what he has to say about your involvement. For some, he may say go, and for others, he says to send, but he will always say something, to be involved in some way. If you are one of those who the Lord has said to go, then Go! There are many amazing organizations to pick from, and I would encourage you to contact me below so I can get in contact with you regarding your next steps. For those who he has not assigned to go, but instead to support from an already reached context, your engagement is incredibly important. You can engage through prayer and fasting, educating others in your context who are unaware of the Global Great Commission, and partnering with men and women who have already said yes. Partnerships with people who have either already gone or are planning to go in the future can include prayer support, financial support, or other specific ways of partnership. A good way to ask the Lord for his heart for the nations is to sign up for a short-term trip with your local church to go to the nations yourself and see what God is accomplishing in the most unreached areas of the Earth.

Currently, The Need Of The Nations is engaged in two initiatives, in the Middle East and South East Asia. Locations and details must be obscured due to security reasons. We serve local Indigenous ministries in the Middle East that reach the unreached and see many come to know Jesus in one of the least Christian-populated nations in the world. They reach people through acts of service and helping the needy. We constantly get reports of people coming to know Jesus through this ministry in the Middle East, it has been running for over 20 years. We also support an indigenous church in South East Asia, where in a country amidst conflict we help support a pastor’s family put food on the table of their home, while also giving food out to their church family and those in need in their country. The 10/40 window is the geographical area of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia between 10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude, where the greatest lack of access to the Gospel exists and where 6,043 unreached people groups live, over 3 billion men and women.

Of the 7,282 unreached people groups that exist, 6,043 of them (82%) are within the 10-40 window alone, where only 1% of missions funding goes and most people can live their entire lives without every hearing the Gospel.
